ACHE Master of Public Health

Program Overview

The Master of Public Health (MPH) prepares students to improve the health of individuals and communities via a skills-based, hands-on approach. Using an innovative teaching model, the program incorporates service-learning opportunities and community-based participatory research throughout the curriculum. Through a blend of theory and practical application, graduates will be fully prepared to tackle health challenges effectively. We offer a two-year MPH with concentrations in Rural and Community Health, and Nutrition. Our 100% online program provides the flexibility to advance your education and make a meaningful impact without disrupting your current life.

Program Format

The ACHE MPH program will be delivered via distance education with synchronous and asynchronous components. The MPH program’s distance education delivery method offers flexibility for students.

ACHE’s MPH program provides working professionals with the skills, knowledge, and credentials needed to advance in the field of public health. Examples include: working in healthcare, government, non-profit organizations, or community industries. ACHE MPH students will evaluate and implement public health programs to raise awareness of best health practices to make impactful changes in their communities.

Program Components

ACHE MPH students will complete foundational courses to meet competency requirements in the core areas of public health: biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, health services administration, and environmental health sciences.

Additionally, students will complete coursework in their selected program concentration:

The program includes an Applied Practice Experience (APEx) for 120 clock hours that aligns with the student’s chosen area of interest to include an active application of their gained knowledge throughout the curriculum. Each student will also complete a capstone project to demonstrate mastery of the content learned throughout the program from both the coursework and APEx.

Full-time students are expected to complete the 42-credit hour program over a 21-month period.

Program Approval

The Master of Public Health degree has been approved by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission.

Faculty & Staff Support

The MPH program faculty will include full-time and part-time instructors who have content expertise in the various components of the program.
